Baseline: Projected Trends

The "Projected Trends" scenario is used as the baseline by which the impact of cancer control interventions on CRC mortality is measured. For this scenario, future CRC mortality rates are projected based on the assumption that trends in risk factors, screening, and chemotherapy will continue to change at the same pace as from 1970-2004.

• The Projected Trend baseline is always displayed.
• Select up to four other scenarios to compare how mortality rates may be affected based on differing levels of risk factor reduction, CRC screening, and/or chemotherapy treatment.
• The projected age-adjusted mortality rates for the baseline scenario are shown on the same graph as the compared scenario.
• The impact of the intervention on mortality, shown as the selected scenario's percent difference from baseline is also graphed.
