Risk Factors (Optimistic but Realistic Goals met)

This model run shows projected CRC mortality through 2020 if optimistic but realistic risk factor goals are achieved, while screening and chemotherapy continue at baseline (projected trends) levels.Optimistic but realistic goals are better than the projected trends, though still realistically obtainable.

The eight modifiable risk factors considered in the models are:

• Smoking status
• Obesity
• Physical activity
• Fruit and vegetable intake
• Multivitamin use
• Red meat intake
• Aspirin/non-steroidal anti-inflammatory use
• Postmenopausal hormone replacement therapy (HRT) (females only)
