Cost Effectiveness Modeling of ACRIN 6664 (National CT Colonography Trial)

Awarded Grants | Breast | Colorectal | Lung | Prostate

David Vanness of the University of Wisconsin Medical School will be conducting the Cost Effectiveness Modeling of ACRIN 6664 (National CT Colonography Trial).

Description of Study: In order to better understand the impact to society of adding CTC (computerized tomographic colongraphy) to the list of currently recommended screening approaches, we intend to conduct cost-effectiveness analysis using simulation methods. Our primary method will be to incorporate estimates of CTC sensitivity, specificity and cost into already existing, validated simulations developed under the CISNET initiative. We believe that it is important to create a "virtual" head-to head evaluation using well-known, peer-reviewed simulations that have already been used to assess current screening technology.
